Wine Country Kitchen Tour  Tickets available now! Sunday, October 14 See how homeowners, designers and builders, are creating–or recreating–kitchens today during this benefit for the Center’s own planned kitchen makeover. An al fresco luncheon will be hosted at one of the homes on the tour in a spectacular setting amongst vineyards, a pond and a beautiful flagstone patio shaded by oak trees. The luncheon will be prepared by two chefs from Whole Foods, Ben Mohan, the Whole Foods Regional Chef and Matt Murray who is based in Sonoma. Funding for the Wine County Kitchen Tour is generously provided by Standards of Excellence and Dacor.

2008 Ox Roast—Sauce Your Ox!
Tell your family and friends, it’s almost time for the 41st Annual Ox Roast! Ox Roast 2008 takes a saucy turn this year with the addition of a “Sauce Your Ox” competition. This new competition was cooked up by food bosses Steve Jones and John Kelly who thought it would be fun to pair the traditional roasting of the beast with a contest pitting sauce makers against one another and letting the public decide who best sauces their ox. All you need to do to participate is come down to the Sonoma Plaza on Sunday, June 1, from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., buy a plate of Ox Roast, choose your sauce, and cast your vote!

From June though August, the Community Center is offering an exciting series of art camps for children aged 6-12. These week-long camps include Prehistoric Art (rocks beads and fossils), Early Civilization (mosaics, symbols and masks), 60’s Pop (prints, cartoons ann soup cans), and Green Art (tin cans , socks and buttons).
 
Spring Pottery Sale
Once again the Sonoma Community Center’s ceramic artists are gearing up to adorn the front lawn with their unique and colorful pottery! This is a great opportunity for you to find that one ceramic object you have been searching for to make your kitchen the perfect place to entertain or find a birthday or wedding gift for a family member or friend! This event supports both the artists and the Community Center’s ceramics program which has recently begun a whole new voyage into the national spotlight beginning with it’s Conversations In Clay lecture series and artist-in-residence program, both made possible through public support of past spring and holiday sales.
 
VOM Nature Lecture Series

The Sonoma Community Center is pleased to host the Valley of the Moon Nature Lecture Series in Andrews Hall on Thursday nights this spring. Lecture topics will appeal to birders and naturalists and anyone interested in northern California’s natural treasures and ever-changing environment. Each lecture will include a question and answer period with the night’s speaker.
