The emphasis is to engage the imagination, play and experiment with acrylic paint on paper and open up to discoveries of technique and expression. Begin loose and spontaneous, non-objective, colorful and expressive. Then learn how to create enriched surfaces through the build up of layers, add other media such as textured materials, collage, mark making and more. Subtract and reconfigure by sanding, scraping and etching with conventional and unconventional tools to create paintings that are surprising and unique. Each class will begin with a demonstration and exercise including color exploration. Limited only by the imagination, you will leave this class with your own bag of creative tricks.
